BubLuv Concept Aims to Reduce Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

BubLuv is a concept design by Michael Geedrick, a student of Queensland University of Technology, which is a monitoring device that can help parents to reduce the incidents on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS amongst infants. BubLuve monitors the children when they are sleeping and alerts the parents if any serious respiratory situation occurs. BubLuv is designed in a way that can measure carbon dioxide and oxygen concentrations of the child during the sleep cycles of the infants. Later on, this device interprets these data to find out the exact situation and relay to the parents through gentle glowing signals.

Compact Baby Carrier for Traveling

The new baby compact, designed by Helder L Santos, is sure as cute as the ones for whom it’s been designed. As the name suggests it’s a small baby carrier and is used to carry children of age group of 0-5 months. However as per the designer, the basic problem was the same, only 5 months of usage. After 5 months the same might not have been of any use. Hence the designer made the same as a compact and shock resistant baby traveling bag in which the parents can carry the daily baby needs once the baby has overgrown the carry stage.

CPLEGIA : Conceptual Cerebral Palsy Walking Unit for Children

The CPLEGIA is a concept cerebral palsy walking unit that is specially designed to develop the walking skills of physically immature children of over 5 years old. This fully automatic walking unit has three different states. First one is an arrangement where kids can use their feet-to-ground power while sitting on the adjustable seat. Second state is for advanced walking practice, where the seat is straightened up so that the kids can walk standing with back support. Third and the final state is for more advanced treatment, where kids will walk without any back support. This product will enhance the social life participation of physically undeveloped children.

Curl Playground Swing Design To Attract Children To Play Outdoor

Computer games, PSP, Nintendo WII, PlayStation, and many more are causing children to have less and less outdoor activities. I can still remember my childhood days, I used to be so excited when my parents took me to play in the park. The part of swings and slides, hide and seek, running around with my friends, BBQ, and outdoor picnic, were the activities that really thrilled me. Unfortunately, that’s not what is happening nowadays; children are too busy staying at home playing their video games. The idea of playing in the park does not excite them. Milos Todorovic, an industrial designer, attempts to engage children in outdoor activities by designing a new playground swing.
The main idea of this playground swing is to create a unique and exciting playground that attracts children to play outdoors. It attempts to separate them from their computer games and enjoy the real fun. This is the reason behind “Curl”. Curl is a playground swing with extra safety features, more durable construction and groovy color choices. You can combine several swings into one big spiral for larger areas such as school yards and parks.

The construction is more unique with idea to attract children along with colours. I have put metal bars instead of chains because they will make movement more stable. Seats are more comfortable. The mechanical system will additionally increase safety and durability of playground swing.

There is possibility of combining swings, the result of that is a spiral shape. This feature could be used on a larger areas such as school yards. The colours have richer and warmer tones, their task is to make swing more desirable and to enrich different environments. for example green would soften city’s concrete parks, and purple would bring more contrast to regular parks.

What is your favorite antiques?

I have some favorites antiques. I show up some of them on top of this antique dresser, made by Carrara marble rose. This beautiful old dresser and the most part of these crystals and porcelains was a gift of my maternal grandmother and my mother. I also have some antiques pieces from my mother-in-law and her sister. I feel very lucky to have such a lovely reminders of the dear women of my family.
